Chris McDonald and Will Taylor are proud to announce that Glory Bound Gyro Co. will open its second location in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on July 17 next door to Mugshots Grill and Bar on the corner of University Blvd and Greensboro Ave.
“We are beyond excited about opening our second location of Glory Bound Gyro Co. in Tuscaloosa,” Taylor said. “The one in Hattiesburg is a local favorite and we can’t wait for Tuscaloosa to experience the good food and good times Glory Bound Gyro Co. has to offer.”
Formerly known as Old Athens Grill, Glory Bound Gyro Company will offer Greek-inspired dishes with an American twist, including appetizers, salads, pasta, desserts, and of course, gyros, served a variety of ways. Going above and beyond the traditional, customers can choose from delicious gyros such as the surf and turf, with flavorful grilled shrimp and savory marinated steak with sautéed onions and peppers, or the pepper jack gyro, with rotisserie seared beef and lamb topped with pepper jack cheese, crispy bacon, and come-back sauce wrapped in lettuce and onions.
“Our food is not something you can get anywhere you go,” McDonald said. “We do offer some dishes found at traditional Greek restaurants, such as hummus appetizers, Mediterranean dishes, Greek salads, and the original gyro, but we put our own touch on the menu, putting together delicious combinations with our secret sauces that you won’t find at any authentic Greek establishments.”
In addition to the delicious food, Glory Bound Gyro Co. will offer an energetic, lively atmosphere that is fun for all ages. The two-story restaurant will offer a full bar, live music on the weekends, and specials daily. It will be the perfect spot to have a birthday party or company dinner, and tables will be available for reservation upon request.
Ain’t Life Grand Investments, the holding company for Glory Bound Gyro Co., Topher’s Rock ‘n Roll Grill, and Mugshots Grill and Bar., has seen tremendous success with the Mugshots in Tuscaloosa, and has high hopes that Glory Bound Gyro Co. will do just as well.
“Mugshots in Tuscaloosa has loyal customers and a constant, steady crowd made up of families and the college crowd alike,” McDonald said. “We foresee Glory Bound Gyro Co. having a similar crowd, and look forward to the locals in Tuscaloosa seeing what we are all about.”
Glory Bound Gyro Co.’s delicious, mouth-watering food coupled with a friendly, fun atmosphere and staff is sure to be a hit in T-Town. The people, the place, the food: this restaurant is almost ready to open and Glory Bound! Come see us July 17 at 2325 University Blvd.
